YANINA FAJAR
DIRECTOR OF CHOREOGRAPHY

Yanina Vanesa Fajar was born in Pergamino, Provincal Buenos Aires Argentina. From the  age of 6 shestarted her study of dance concentrating on Arabian, Spanish, Argentine Folk Dancing and Tango.  Her teachers included Sandra Bootz & Gabriel Ortega, Silvio Lavia, Nito & Elva García, Pepito Avellaneda, Juan Carlos Copes & Gloria and Eduardo Arquimbau
 
In  1994 Yanina graduated from Fracassi Conservatory as a teacher of Arabian, Spanish & Argentine Folklore Dance. She was Co.Director of her own Dance School, instigating the first official Ballet Dance School in  Pergamino Argentina. Yanina was involved in several international tours of Italy 1994, Spain 1995 and Peru 1996. From 1996 to 1997 joining the “ Juan Carlos Copes Ballet” and in 1998 Yanina is involved with the Junior Ballet Troupe of Gloria & Eduardo Arquimbau.
Yanina had a 13 year partnership with the tango dancer Nelson Celis, during this time they went on many international tours including:
1997 - Tour in Asuncion del Paraguay, with the Carlos Galvan and Enrique Dumas Orchestra.
1998-  Tour in San Francisco U.S.A with the company “Tango” and with Roberto Mortiroli Orchestra.
1999-  Tour to Japan with the Orchestra Sexteto Sur and the singer Graciela Arcelli.
2001-2003 -Tours through Japan with the Company Tango Bizarro and Los Cosos de Al Lao Orchestra.
2002 - Tour in Tokyo, Japan with the Company Tango Dreams and the Orchestra of Cristian Zarate.
2005 – 2009 – Extensive international tours with the production Tango Fire.

Yanina has performed in the most important theatres in Buenos Aires ; Opera, Nacional Cervantes, Presidente Alvear,  San Fernando, Auditorium Mar del Plata and Centro Cultural Borges where she shared the stage with some of the most famous Tango artists in Argentina Alberto Castillo, Jorge Valdez, Jorge Dragone Orchestra, Enrique Dumas, Nelly Omar, Hugo del Carril junior and Oscar Bassil’s Orchestra.

She put together the cast of the best Tango houses in Argentina “La Ventana” “El Viejo Almacen”, “La Cumparsita”, “Cambalache”, “Casablanca” & “Esquina Homero Manzi” among others.

Yanina has performed & been interviewed on many T.V programs in Argentina and around the world including “El Espejo” (channel 9),  “La Noche con Amigos” (Channel 7), “El Firulete” (Señal Solo Tango), ''SKY News'' (SKY TV London), ''Good Day New York!'' (Fox, New York), also numerous programs on Spanish T.V.

In 2005, she joined the Tango Fire Company of Buenos Aires production Tango Fire as a dancer and Choreographers Assistant. In 2008 she took up the role of Choreographer of the group Tangos. Tango Fire has been performed in some of the most prestigious theatres in the world amongst them Sadlers Wells Peacock Theatre in London, The Joyce Theatre in New York and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

Since 2009 Yanina’s dance partner has been Mariano Balois.

 

 

 

GERMAN CORNEJO
ASSISTANT CHOREOGRAPHER

German Cornejo was born in Zárate, Buenos Aires Province on 31 May 1986. At the age of 10 he started studying Tango. At 15, he obtained a degree from Gatell Conservatory of Dance with the honorable title of Master of Tango.
In the following years German broadened his skills by studying classical and contemporary ballet, jazz and acrobatic techniques & qualified as a Master of Choreographic Composition at the National Institute of Arts.
German studied under several teachers however the most important was Nelida Rodriguez, whom he refers to as his “Artistic Godmother”. She was one of the first ballerinas of the Legendary “Tango Argentino” and a star who succeeded on Broadway in the 1980s. She imparted to him not only her knowledge of dance but also the yeites. (this word comes from the early 20th century lanuage of Tango known as Lunfardo meaning “the secrets of the Tango steps”).
German won the “Gold New Talent” prize and the “Competition of Gold Dance” in the well know TV show “Susana Gimenez” hosted by the popular Argentine star & broadcast by TELEFE.
After seven gold medals obtained in a series of Contests for Youth in Buenos Aires Province, and more than 20 first prizes at national level, German became World Champion of Tango in 2005.
He has performed at many famous Tango houses in Buenos Aires including Mambo, Chiquin Buenos Aires and El Viejo Almacén.  German has conducted dance demonstrations at some of the most important milongas in Buenos Aires; La Viruta, Porteño and Bailarín, Parakultural and Confitería Ideal.
German has performed on top rating TV shows in South America: Susana Gimenez, Showmatch, La Noche del 10 Hosted by Diego A. Maradona, Por el Mundo, Desayuno, Por Siempre Tango, Mp3 Musica del Tercer Milenio, Afectos Especiales  & Programa do Jó in Brazil.
He was a dancer in the production Bien de Tango with the Orchestra El Arranque, Vamos al Tango with Osvaldo Berlingeri (which obtained 4 Starfish prizes), Tango por La Igualdad and presently Tango Fire & Tango Inferno.
German has been choreographer for the show Mission Tango under the musical direction of Lisandro Adrover and performed in Brazil in El Viejo Almacén - On Tour together with Ariel Spandrio´s Orchestra.
German also performed for the President of Vietnam when he visited Argentina with the dance group “Sentimientos Tangueros”, under his own direction.
In 2006 he traveled Japan extensively performing Buenos Tangos under Musical Director Fabio Hager & in 2008 toured there with ‘’Tango Dance Premium’’ with Fernando Marzán´s Orchestra.
In 2008 German was paid homage to, in the show Evocacion at the Coliseum Theatre by the Department of Culture of Zárate, his home town, for his outstanding achievements.
German is regarded as one of the best teachers of Show Tango in Buenos Aires with many of his students reaching top positions in the finals in the Tango World Cup in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
German’s dance partner is Carolina Giannini they have been dancing together since 2006
